Rattlesnake blood points to a more powerful new antivenom
Researchers found that combinations of toxin-blocking proteins naturally present in rattlesnake blood can strongly neutralize venom from several dangerous snake species. In lab tests, the mixture performed about 10 times better than a current commercial antivenom, opening the door to a new generation of snakebite treatments.
